Urodzony w roku 1953, jest ukraińskim pisarzem, eseistą, tłumaczem związanym z kijowskim pismem "Krytyka". Coraz częściej zajmuje się politologią. Wykłada, pisze felietony i analizy. Jego ostatnia książka _Ulubiony pistolet pani Simpson, czyli kronika pomarańczowej porażki_ jest rozliczeniem tego, jak Ukraina wykorzystała pięć lat po pomarańczowej rewolucji. Laureat Polsko-Ukraińskiej Nagrody Pojednania, nagrody Polcul Foundation oraz ostatnio tytułu Bene Merito przyznawanego przez polski MSZ za szczególne zasługi dla zbliżenia z naszym krajem, współpracę i promocję Polski za granicą.
